About Me -
Lucinda Chen

Lucinda’s love for dance began at just five years old. She started with traditional Chinese dance and later expanded her artistry as a teenager through classical ballet. Her true turning point came in the 1980s when, while learning English, she discovered the iconic black-and-white films of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Their elegance, rhythm, and charm sparked a deep passion for ballroom dancing that has stayed with her ever since.

Driven by that passion, Lucinda trained across the world—from New York and New Jersey to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. She competed internationally, earning impressive results and gaining a reputation for grace, discipline, and unforgettable stage presence. In 2010, she brought her journey full circle by becoming a ballroom dance instructor, sharing her lifelong love of movement with students of all ages and experience levels.

Lucinda is celebrated for her patience, clear instruction, and talent for bringing out each dancer’s unique strengths. She understands that every student learns differently, and she customizes her teaching style to help each person grow with confidence, artistry, and elegance. For Lucinda, teaching dance is more than teaching steps—it’s about inspiring passion, building discipline, and helping dancers discover a deeper joy in movement that lasts a lifetime.
